Born in the department of Santander, he traveled to Bogotá where he studied Fine Arts at the National University and later moved to Paris. Painter of urban atmospheres, recognized for his portraits of the turbulence of the night, for his representations of brothels, billiards and sordid streets of contemporary cities. In 1972 he was awarded the Prize of the I Salon of Colombian Artists, Jorge Tadeo Lozano University. In 1987 he exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art in Bogotá and in 2001 at the Museum of Modern Art in Medellín. He had individual exhibitions at the Aberbach Gallery in Paris and one of his paintings was raised to a poster at the International Art Fair in Paris (Fiat).
